What You Will Do:
- Apply your education to real-world challenges while receiving mentorship and training from experienced engineers
- Support projects involving public water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, and transportation infrastructure
- Design and develop electrical control systems for automated control systems in municipal and industrial applications
- Participate in inspections of control system installations, field instrumentation testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
- Work across offices and disciplines to contribute to multi-office project teams
- Engage in a supportive team culture that encourages asking questions, solving problems, and growing professionally
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics
- Strong academic record, and demonstrated intellectual curiosity
- Previous design or programming internship in the engineering or public works industry is a plus
- Motivation to learn, adapt, and contribute across a variety of project types
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized, responsive, and able to balance multiple responsibilities in a team environment
- Genuine interest in public sector infrastructure design and community-focused solutions
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- EIT certification within 1 year required; completed EIT preferred
- Desire to pursue PE licensure within 4–5 years
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D preferred
- PLC/ operator interface software development
- SCADA HMI application software
- Basic programming for Python, C, C#, Java, and/or Rust
Compensation:
- Hourly rate (full-time hires) start around $35/hour and will vary based on experience and qualifications
- Overtime (time and a half) is paid for hours exceeding 40 per week
